21 Weeks

DSCN3268 DSCN3270

Mommy loves all the time she gets to spend with Caitlin.  Caitlin loves to look at books and listen to the stories.  She helps mommy by turning the pages.  She continues to love to roll over and is even attempting to scoot.  She gets stuck though and then gets frustrated.  We tried oatmeal this week since she hated rice cereal a few weeks ago.  It has been two days and she seems to like it.  She isn’t eating too much of it, but I’ll take it!  She has also really found her voice and loves to “yell.”

Fun Weekend

We had fun over the Memorial Day Weekend!  We had a BBQ on Saturday and Caitlin’s friend Sophia came over (picture above)!  On Sunday, we went to Brookfield Zoo with Grandmo and Grandpa.  It was Caitlin’s First Trip to the Zoo and the first time she was facing forward in the Bjorn.  As soon as we put her in it, she let out this happy yell and laugh.  She really enjoyed being able to look all around!!  We have a membership to the zoo so we plan on making many trips there over the summer!  The weather didn’t cooperate on Monday so we just hung out at home.  Daddy is sick so we hope that Mommy and Caitlin don’t get it.

New Obsession!

Mommy and Caitlin went to watch Daddy run in the Chase Challenge last Thursday!  It was a beautiful night.  Caitlin is now obsessed with bottles, cups, etc (as you can see from these pictures)!  She loves to watch us drink out of them and then she reaches for them.  If we put it up to her mouth, she tries to “drink” too.  It is so cute!!!

20 Weeks

DSCN3243 DSCN3233 DSCN3244 DSCN3248 DSCN3241 DSCN3250

Caitlin is now 20 weeks!  Wow, time is flying by!  Two of the pictures above show her new favorite sleeping position:  her butt in the air.  It is so funny.  When she wakes up in the morning, she has little red spots on her knees from sleeping like that.  I guess it doesn’t hurt her.  She continues to entertain us and has now found a new sound:  a loud shriek!  It is cute for now, but I am sure it will get old as soon as she realizes she can make it even louder.  She loves to “talk,” laugh and smile!  We are excited to start using sign language with her soon!

Caitlin had fun eating her feet this week while sitting in her swing.  She likes to sit in there when mommy does the laundry.  We sing and dance while we put away the clothes!! She loves to laugh when mommy makes all the funny animal noises during the songs!

I think Caitlin now knows to smile when she sees the camera.  The two pictures with the flower on her head are perfect examples of this.  As soon as I pulled out the camera, she had a huge grin on her face.  It was so cute!

19 Weeks/First Trip to Champaign

We went to Champaign on Sunday, May 17th for Joey Sarther’s graduation!  Caitlin got to see her cousins, Laney and Hadley!  We wish we got to visit with them longer, but it was still good to see them and the rest of the family!  We can’t believe how big the girls are getting.  Hadley loved eating ice cream and Laney was so cute with Caitlin.  We are really looking forward to our stay in Evansville in June.

After our lunch, Grant, Caitlin and I walked around campus.  She ate her lunch on the Quad and got to see mommy’s sorority.  We also couldn’t resist buying her more Illini gear!!!

As you can see from the pictures, Caitlin has found her feet and LOVES to put them in her mouth!  She is so distracted by them that she has a hard time going to sleep because all she wants to do is eat her feet!!!!  Caitlin also loves to touch people’s faces.  She thinks it is so funny when you try to “eat” her hands and feet.  She is starting to master rolling from her back to her tummy during playtime.

White Sox Game/17 Weeks

Caitlin had a busy week last week.  She tried rice cereal for the first time.  She liked it the first day and hated it the rest of the week.  She really likes blowing bubbles in it and getting it all over her face :)  She also really loved to “talk” when she was eating.  She wouldn’t shut up which we thought was soooo cute!  As you can see from the pictures, she learned how to roll over from her back to her belly.  So, she now loves to sleep on her belly.  We were really scared by this at first but she is really strong and can pick up her head really well!  The pictures above are how I found her on two different mornings in her crib.  We stopped swaddling her with her hands in the swaddle as soon as she could roll over.  She has now graduated to a sleep sack!

Caitlin has been to two White Sox games so far this season.  We had great weather for the first game.  She really liked being outside in the fresh air.  The second game was pretty cold so we convinced the guest service people to let us up on the Club Level so we could watch the game indoors.  It was VERY nice!
